The Blazer Foundation is a community-based organization dedicated to enriching education in the Daniel Boone Area School District. The Foundation provides grants for programs, projects and equipment that have a significant impact on students. Major programs currently supported by the Blazer Foundation include:
Teacher Grants – Grants are awarded to DBASD faculty members in support of innovative classroom activities from all levels of education. The majority of funding for the teacher grants comes from generous donations by DBASD employees through payroll deductions.
Blazer TV Studio – The Blazer Foundation is actively working to improve the quality of the TV studio utilized by HS students. The current studio lacks many basic features to prepare our students for a career in digital media.
HS Bioreactor – In an effort to educate students on energy related issues and to help motivate students to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields, Daniel Boone High School Science teachers initiated this extracurricular research project intended to prepare students for this exciting and emerging field thereby helping to address and to alleviate future energy shortages.
